If you are looking for a church in Herrin, we are happy to welcome you to First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We welcome all the people of God; as well as those who are asking, considering, wondering, or thinking about Jesus.
Our contemporary worship service is at 9:03 am in the Fellowship Hall, 420 N. Park Ave. The traditional service is in the main sanctuary at 11:00 am, 421 N. 14th Street.
Our church is evangelical (centered in Jesus Christ and strongly valuing the authority of the Bible) and Reformed (based in John Calvin’s teachings on God’s sovereignty).
As an ECO congregation, we are part of a movement of God's people working for faith, justice, and peace. Some distinctive traits of our church include a commitment to discipleship, a priority on leadership development, and an affirmation of women in leadership.
Our Church-wide planning meeting will be held after worship on Sunday, January 29th at the Herrin House of Hope. A luncheon will be served at 12 noon, and our work will begin around 12:30. Please bring all your best ideas, critiques, and suggestions.
The House of Hope is open, serving lunch monday - friday from 11am until 1 pm. Our week to staff the House begins January 30th. Join us from 10 am until 2 pm, any day from Monday, January 30th to Friday, February 3rd.
